Business Resilience Planning

HOW WOULD SEVERE WEATHER, SUCH AS THE FLOODING IN 2014, AFFECT YOUR BUSINESS?

Somerset Communities were put to the test in the 2014 Somerset Floods. CCS were part of the recovery and felt it important to promote and aid business and community resilience across Somerset.

This page specifically focuses on resilience planning for businesses, to be well prepared for the next severe weather event that will happen.

MAKE A PLAN. PLAN AHEAD.

The information in the Resilience Pack CCS have developed builds on the collective experience of Somerset businesses, and highlights the best practice tried and tested by people to protect their business and thrive in the face of adversity.

The objective of the Business Resilience plan is to:

– Identify the risks and develop the relevant response actions

– Identify vulnerable elements of the business, whether that is     people, property, equipment, livestock or other physical stock.

– Identify human and physical resources available to assist during an emergency.

– Build an Emergency Pack that can be quickly accessed in the event of an emergency.
